Nishida Sanae is a supporting character in Blue Reflection. She is a first year student of class 1-A at Hoshinomiya Girls' High School and is a member of the Cooking Club.

Sanae is somewhat timid, having gone to middle school with Shirai Hinako but too shy to actually approach her at the time. Her culinary skills do not disappoint, and she can sometimes be heard quietly singing to herself.
Appearance[]
Sanae is a young woman of average height, with grey eyes and thin-framed spectacles. She has long, light brown hair which is worn in a half-up braided hair style. She wears the Hoshinomiya Girls' School Uniform, with white thigh-high stockings and brown dress shoes.

Sanae is the first supporter that Hinako meets at Hoshinomiya. While Hinako cannot remember her from middle school, Sanae remembers who Hinako is and is ecstatic to finally make her acquaintance. After a short conversation, Sanae agrees not to reveal Hinako's secret of how she injured her leg, and how she came to attend Hoshinomiya.
It is during this encounter that Hinako first discovers the Common, and her own hidden potential as a Reflector.
It is eventually discovered that Sanae has a fondness for rap music. Coming out of her shell, she challenges Hinako to a rap battle. While her rhymes are quite silly, she gets very much into it, and Hinako must leap to the Common to help her out of her troubled emotional state.
Etymology[]
- Nishida means "west" (西) (nishi) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da).
- Sanae means "already, now, fast, early" (早) (sa) and "seedling, sapling, shoot" (苗) (nae).
Trivia[]
- Sanae is mostly helpless without her glasses, unable to distinguish Hinako from Yuzu from Lime.
- Sanae somehow knows that the Shijou sisters are not twins.
- Yuzu's nickname for Sanae is Nae.
